This pot is made up of over 300 individual pieces of walnut, maple and cherry. It's another example of what segmented turning can achieve in the realm of three-dimensional visual arts.

Wow. This is made of wood!?

Amazing. I imagine it must have been difficult and time consuming.

Are there any advantages to wooden pots over ceramic, clay, <the usual material>? I can think of lightness being one, and looks if one likes wood better, but does the wood give it some additional function (sorry if this sounds dumb, but I'm not a prolific user of pots)?

My blog.
My web design site. I will make free (and good) websites for artists/writers/etc.
Wood is just another artist medium. I prefer it because it radiates warmth. Check out my journal entry for additional info. Also thanks for your WOW.
Amazing! Oh my gosh... so amazing!!!

is this also finished on the inside?
....I imagine so...amazing, artistically, and technically!
Yes. All my pots are finished on the inside. While I'm not a perfectionist, this little touch is equated to a higher level of quality by afficionados and museums. Check out the Royal Thundermug and New Mexico Starburst.
