Description
Everybody in the western world knows Snoopy, thanks to Charles Schultz's brilliant comic strip, "Peanuts". I fell in love with all the characters over 50 years ago, especially Snoopy.
In the early 50s, I didn't know I was going to be a sculptor, but I knew I wanted my kids to have a 'Snoopy'.
So I carved him out of sugar pine. He smelled so good, I wasn't going to put a finish on him. So Snoopy was my first sculpture!
Over the years the kids put many coats on him. Some from peanut butter (what a coincidence), jelly, grimey fingers and the like. Most of it wiped off and left a nice patina.

Delightful piece and a very emotional description.
